I was researching Compton, California as a possible vacation spot not long ago and was quite pleased with the information I found on TripAdvisor.com.
The Tropicana Motel features photos of the bathroom. Believe me when I say this is first room I always check out.
Jay Bee’s House of Fine Bar-B-Que is open for lunch and dinner. Don’t let the shady look fool you. Jay Bee is concerned with tastey food quality not atmosphere. That’s how you know when you getting good BAR-B-Q.
Best of all the pilot for the Celebrity Helicopters Day Tours is my kinda guy. When there’s a glitch what else can you say but “what the f***!?” And local kids to greet you!! How awesome is that?
One thing that I did find more than interesting while researching was just how many people from foreign countries were leaving inquiring about and/or leaving reviews on their experiences in Compton.
I mean we have people from South Africa, United Kingdom, Canada, and all the way down in New Zealand!
I’d never heard the phrase “holidaying in Compton” before but I like it!
The city was incorporated back in May 11, 1888 so ya know it’s chalked plum full of history. And it’s nestled right in between Los Angeles proper and Long Beach…so if you’re booking an extended stay and need more to do, you’re less than a stone’s throw from other hot spots.
The next time I book a flight or make travel plans, I’m checking out Compton for sure. š
PS- Compton has its own airport so ya don’t gotta mess with that LAX.
PPS- I’m not poking fun at Compton or its people. I’ve had a fascination with the city ever since in the late 80s when I heard N.W.A. sing Straight Outta… I’m more amused with some of the absurdity on TripAdvisor.
