I hate that this song is in my head for like all day…
…but then again, I also kinda like Chicago.
If you see me walking by…

Peeps, I can call you Betty. And you can call me Al.
PS- this is by far my favorite Chevy Chase era.

Peeps, here’s your went-to-school-and-i-was-very-nervous Wednesday jam. Only somebody who’s 19 could write such a masterpiece. And please enjoy the shit out of Roland Orzabal 80s dancing, too.

It always throws me because I heard the Gary Jules version from Donnie Darko first and this one is so fast and like … Those lyrics are not dance music lyrics

True, the lyrics have never made me want to moonwalk

Peeps, here’s your i-aint-no-psychiatrist jam for Thursday because my biggest question has always been, “what the fuck is wrong with you?”
People walking around everyday, playing games, taking scores.
Trying to make other people lose their minds.
Well, be careful. You’re gonna lose yours.
😅😐

This almost made me cry.
And fuck the earplugs. “We want it loud.” .. 🎸

I shared this with Jimi earlier tonight. I sometimes question the musicianship of the modern era but when I hear tracks like this, I know it’s alive and well.
The simple acoustic riff, the harmonizing group vocals and piano… I love everything about it. If I could sing as he does I’d never talk.
And their off the street/don’t care/everyday slouching outfits and video shot phone style. And they pulled it off live.
I don’t relate with the lyrics in the here and now but there have been times when people hated me. And I didn’t understand why. And then I felt like I owed them an apology.
And of course my favorite lyric:
I know I can be dramatic.

Peeps, here’s your shes-doing-what-you-did-to-me Monday morning jam.
When I heard Uh Huh for the first time this past weekend I realized I had forgotten how much I love this stomping, acoustic type of rock. She’s got this 60s vocal twanged with a little bit of country.
Be sure to listen to her single, Lottery, too.

On Tuesday Maggie and I went over to her mom’s apartment so Maggie could run in and grab her dress shoes for her choir concert. On the way we were rocking out in the truck as we do, listening to Photograph by Def Leppard.
As we pulled into the parking lot Joe Elliot was singing “you got some kinda hold on me, you’re all wrapped up in mystery” and Phil Collen hammered out his barred chords.
It was early evening, sunny outside, we had the windows down. It was perfect.
After I pulled up to the front of the building, Maggie hopped out, walked about three feet, and then stopped.
Then she turned around, came back to the truck, and said through the open window, “dad, you may want to turn the music down.”

When I hear the opening riff in Come As You Are, all is right with the world.
Come doused in mud, peeps.
And bring a Fender Mustang if you got one. 🎸
