I read one of the entries in my new diaries for 2018 book, affectionately titled You can’t dump that there. It was one of my more popular podcasts from last year so I thought it’d be a good fit for a reading. The video clocks in a little over 9 minutes so pull up a chair and pretend like you’re at my dining room table.
If you’re new here, this is the current tagline for the book:
The ebbs and flows of this alcoholic, it’s all true. A year’s worth of words on my recover journey. Most of the time I don’t know what I’m talking about.
You may be asking yourself where you could buy this book. That would be a very good question. Below are links for your clicking pleasure.
• amazon.com: Paperback → Kindle →
• tcrbang.com: diaries for 2018 book →

Thanks for stepping outside of your comfort zone & recording this. I love the eyebrows comment & I can only assume by your own comments that it’s not your most natural position to have your mug right up on the screen ( or is it? ), either way, kudos to you!!!
I remember very clearly reading this entry sometime in the springish of last year & it was chocked full of so much incredible insight that I’ve carried snippets of it around in my inner spiritual library since then. You are so incredibly real & compassionate & honest to your own self… it keeps me hopeful. Thank you.

On Tuesday Maggie and I went over to her mom’s apartment so Maggie could run in and grab her dress shoes for her choir concert. On the way we were rocking out in the truck as we do, listening to Photograph by Def Leppard.
As we pulled into the parking lot Joe Elliot was singing “you got some kinda hold on me, you’re all wrapped up in mystery” and Phil Collen hammered out his barred chords.
It was early evening, sunny outside, we had the windows down. It was perfect.
After I pulled up to the front of the building, Maggie hopped out, walked about three feet, and then stopped.
Then she turned around, came back to the truck, and said through the open window, “dad, you may want to turn the music down.”

Guys, laceration hazard at the Starbucks on Randall Road. Personally, I’ve never seen a broken plunger knob but apparently it’s a real thing if you work the rod too hard or something. 🤕

For those of you who are culinarily risqué, feastishly bold, for those who live on the literal edge of le chef’s knife, I have a daring cookery question for you.
Are golden tater tots allowed on a zesty pizza?
🤯🍕
I know this very well may have blown your taste budding mind, but seriously, could one great, lone master chef (me) even pull this off? At this hour?
⏰ 🤔

See, my only real question was, is it hand food or utensil food?

It was a goddamn free for all! Golden taters and red sauce drops and the other edible carnages resisting. Next time I’ll use mini tots and arrange more strategically. So I can use my fork since my mom makes me.

“There wasn’t any room for anyone else to be writing,” Waters told Rolling Stone in 1987. “There was no point in Gilmour, Mason or Wright trying to write lyrics. Because they’ll never be as good as mine. Gilmour’s lyrics are very third-rate. They always will be. And in comparison with what I do, I’m sure he’d agree.”
Sounds about right to me.

When you guys pluck your eyebrows after each one do you say, “that’s what I thought!”

Mine are multi-hued brows and I only terminate the ones that have gone full out white. Which is pretty much eyebrow suicide nowadays.
