My kitchen table was 23.5” x 36” and that was a smidge too small for more than two people.
The one good thing about buying a house from the early 80s that multiple families have lived in is that there’s all kinds of hidden treasures.
I found a handful of boards in the garage rafters, cut them to size, nailed them down, and now the table is 26” x 48” or so. It’s kinda farmhouse but I like it.
I may dig out some of my black and white horror magazines, cut out 10-15 movie titles/monsters and then mod podge them to the top.
You know, because that’s what you do when you’re me. 😉

Peeps, here’s your with-bombs-and-the-devil jam for this sunny Saturday. Warning: there’s a gypsy/magician looking performance ahead.
I get Pavlovian chills when this comes on. Hearing Nancy Wilson’s opening acoustic makes me feel like a winding top and then Ann Wilson comes in with her soothing vocals, it’s some kind of deranged magic for my soul
I remember thinking about the second verse in another life, just on its own. Associating love with crazy is what happens when you’re heartbroken.
Anyways, often times I’ll watch guitarists’ fret hand to see what their fingers are doing but in this particular performance, Nancy’s right hand is what makes her part come alive to me. She’s murdering that guitar body. The electric riffs are killer, too.
Watch any band on The Midnight Special during this era, you won’t be disappointed if you grew up on 70s rock.
And don’t miss Nancy’s kick at 5:09. 😉

George W. Bush was another President partial to bombast and we survived him. Trump might be a nightmare but maybe the instincts of the electorate are correct and we need someone to do a cannonball in the pool, getting everyone wet. In the long run he’ll get very little done because he doesn’t know how government really operates and his helpers aren’t that helpful. It’s in the short run that he’ll really shake things up, not by doing anything, but through people imagining what he might do. Imagination tends to be worse than reality.

Leonard Cohen, the Canadian poet and novelist who abandoned a promising literary career to become one of the foremost songwriters of the contemporary era, has died, according to an announcement Thursday night on his Facebook page. He was 82.
Mr. Cohen’s record label, Sony Music, confirmed the death. No details were available on the cause. Adam Cohen, his son and producer, said: “My father passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles with the knowledge that he had completed what he felt was one of his greatest records. He was writing up until his last moments with his unique brand of humor.”
All my heroes are dying 😞 “the master of erotic despair”

Wikileaks has a 10-year record of never releasing a single falsified document, and is not connected to Russia. Everything they released were the actual e-mails of Hillary Clinton and her campaign staff. You had the opportunity to look through a window into the Hillary Clinton campaign, but you didn’t.
By ignoring the leaks, you ignored reality.
By not listening to your fellow Americans, and accusing them of being “conspiracy theorists” and trusting the corporate media, you ignored reality. By only following other liberals on social media, and only reading liberal or corporate news, once again ignoring reality. When Hillary Clinton was caught rigging the primary against Bernie Sanders, and Democrats nominated her anyway they ignored reality.
A friend sent the above to me last night. Below is how I replied to her message.
That’s a good read. I was telling Maggie earlier that Hillary shouldn’t have even been the nominee.
Our country is so fucked up that often times it feels pointless. But I just try to be the best me I can for Maggie’s sake. Her generation will be so much better than ours.
