Perusing the USPS on Facebook at 6:47 in the AM as I do, I accidentally tapped the down gray chevron. A little box appeared as they do, with a “What’s happening in this post?” heading and also “Nudity or Sex Acts” and “Violence” buttons.

For a second I wasn’t sure if I was on some underground, off-color site for the renegade Bartertown / Thunderdome types. Granted I’d only had one swill of coffee but c’mon.

I heard on NPR yesterday or the day before that the guy that did the Mad Max: Fury Road soundtrack also co-composed the Batman v Superman soundtrack. You remember that little guitar fill for Wonder Woman theme? Yep. That’s the one. That hooked me.

Why is this NPR news at this hour? Because he did the score for The Dark Tower, the movie that should’ve been all the rage. But that’s a different story.

After digging more into Antonius Tom Holkenborg’s page on Wikipedia I see that he did the soundtrack for Deadpool, too. He’s also going to helm the music for the upcoming Tomb Raider film.

Shut up. I don’t have a man-crush. 😉 I have a deep love of music and soundscapes.

Anyways, I don’t wanna say that movie music can make or break a show but it comes pretty damn close. Without Doof Warrior I wouldn’t have loved Fury Road as much as I did.

White House reviewing new report that finds strong link between climate change, human activity

A climate report based on work conducted by scientists in 13 federal agencies is under active review at the White House, and its conclusions about the far-reaching damage already occurring from global warming are at odds with the Trump administration’s views.

The report, known as the Climate Science Special Report, finds it is “extremely likely” that more than half of the rise in temperatures over the past four decades has been caused by human activity — in contrast to Trump Cabinet members’ views that the magnitude of that contribution is uncertain.

Good. Views are subjective, facts are the opposite.

We walk up to an apartment community on the Fox River in St. Charles. The door’s unlocked and we go inside to a small entry way. There’s a telephone system labeled, “ENTRY ACCESS SYSTEM” to our left.

The shiny metal has been throughly scratched. The keyhole, too. I don’t know what could’ve done this kind of damage as the phone receiver is only plastic. Certainly it couldn’t mar the metal plate. I pick up the receiver and place it to my ear. No dial tone.

Ten seconds tick by…

I wish there was more to the story but there’s not.

I couldn’t bring myself to call any of the apartments listed in the directory. I just stood there for a minute with the phone receiver up to my ear. Like an asshole.

See, not all of my stories are good.
