I was reading about Letterman and that was something he said when he was a weatherman. Completely made up forecast for a city that didn’t exist.

I love interjecting non-sense. stolen often says that when I do, people feel like I’m making fun of them. That’s never my intention, I’m just personally amused by this.

i do the same thing. E says i’m not accessible. “something isn’t funny if you’re the only one in on it.” quote.

I’ve learned to share certain humors only if the Lettermans are in the same room.

If you don’t go around spouting nonsense, you never find those rare people who actually know what you’re talking about. That 1 person in a million who gets it is worth all the weird looks. So to that I say: “But Bob - Destroying all skateboarding is never the answer!”

I was just reminded of a conversation I had yesterday. I was sitting at a table with 3 colleagues at lunch, and one of them commented that he doesn’t usually talk about the things he’s interested in because, as he said “most people aren’t interested in space-mining or asteroids”. The rest of us were in fact interested in these things and commented as follows:

“I like asteroids!”
“We live and breathe asteroids!”
“My Mom is an asteroid!”

Silence as everybody turns and looks at me… I shrug. But then they all laughed and the Mom/asteroid jokes continued for the rest of the afternoon. And we talked about space-mining.

YES. My mom, too, was once an asteroid!

Kindred spirits are the best.

I love the little robot dude on the right. I just wanna walk round with stiff arms, shooting lasers out my cyclops.

He may even be doing that moonwalk that all the kids are doing these days.

How about left robot dude? “That cloud looks like a lasered duck! That cloud looks like a lasered whale! That cloud looks like a crashing lasered airpla…oh shit I left my laser on.”

That would be something you wouldn’t want to forget. Could you imagine the horror/excitement of being stuck in late afternoon traffic after forgetting to turn your laser cyclops off? How destructively liberating.
