Peeps, here’s your when-the-sun-comes-up-ill-be-on-top jam for this rainy Thursday.
The video isn’t the original recording but it’s in color and has stop animation Barbies. And we get Question Mark doing what he does best: shaking and snapping in his slithery dance and forcefully gesturing to whoever 96 Tears is about.
I’m so glad I’m not in a relationship like the one described in the lyrics. I can relate of course but I don’t want to anymore. Not in the here-and-now. I never wanna make another person cry from some kind position of twisted retaliation/dominance.
PS- They have vintage Vox Continental organs on eBay and by no accident my birthday is June 11th.

Totally… I listened to it like at least 10 times yesterday back to back while writing the little blurb. And then it would not leave.

A pioneering judge, who became the first Muslim woman in US history to serve on the bench, was found dead Wednesday — washed up on the Manhattan side of the Hudson River, sources said.
…
Her husband later identified her body. Sources said it showed no obvious signs of trauma or injuries indicating criminality or foul play, and that her death appeared to be a suicide.
…
“She was a pioneer,” he said. “Through her writings, her wisdom, and her unshakable moral compass, she was a force for good whose legacy will be felt for years to come. I was proud to appoint her to the state’s highest court and am deeply saddened by her passing.”
After reading the article a couple of times it just doesn’t sound like she would be the type to commit suicide. You never know about people of course but considering where a good vocal percent of country seems to be regarding Muslims I doubt if she just jumped in the river to do herself in. Do people really do themselves in by drowning?

***Originally there were a lot of words here that made light of the fear of drowning. I probably shouldn’t do that. I have been able to swim and completely unafraid of drowning since I can remember. You’d have to be hellbent to drown yourself. If you learn to swim you’ll wonder why you waited so long. People can float. That is not my arrogant opinion.
Now flying, on the other hand, is harder. I’ve had the power of flight for quite some time and it comes in damn handy. It’s kinda hard to teach though. I always end up with these Nervous Nelly types for students and when it comes time to soar or sink, they practically always disappoint me.
“Why do we have to start way up here on the 7th floor? Can’t I just go up on the roof of the garage?”
You’ve never heard such whining.

Is it me or does the rain seem to bring every turtle and their umbrella outside for the daily commute?
Traffic’s trickling around at a slug’s pace and I’m eye rolling not so pleasantly, “who’s the buttplug that’s gumming up the works??”

I’m sure everybody takes pictures of their fire pit but it was the first time I was up close and personal.

It’s hard to photoshoot them because they won’t let me get too close. And they camouflage themselves well.

Whenever we get a support voicemail at work, it’s attached as an MP3 to an email and sent to everybody in the office. It’s handy because then you can just play the audio file in the email as opposed to dialing into the voicemail and jumping through all those hoops.
Note that I said “everybody in the office” above.
We got such a voicemail email at 12:20 pm that was for me. Happens all the time.
Fearless Leader forwards me the email at 1:03 pm.
He set the whole voicemail system up, he knows how it works.
Two weeks ago I sent him an email with a small list of things I need from him. None of it’s done.
Today he forwards me an email for something that I’ve already taken care of.
He didn’t do it to be mean. He does things like that because he doesn’t want to do things that are his responsibility.
It’s a classic example of him “pushing papers” on to my pile that have nothing to do with him, all the while ignoring the papers on his pile. Let’s solve problems that aren’t ours so we can avoid problems that are.
I sent him a one line reply, “Yep, I saw it.” at 1:04 pm.

Peeps, here’s your big-big-love Wednesday jam. One of my all time favorite love songs and definitely my fave Pixie. The lyrics and bass playing… Kim Deal could perform this solo and still pull it off.
He’ll walk her every day into a shady place. Like the dark, but I’d want him
I’ve never seen Crimes of the Heart but it’s been on my list once I learned it was the song’s inspiration. Part of what kept me from watching it, though, is that I personalize songs, attach my own meanings to them and the like. And sometimes pulling back the curtain too far can spoil the magic.
Regardless…
Lovely legs there are.
