It’s funny how songs come along right when you need them, when they echo sentiments that ring true for that given era.

You can’t go wrong with the second album, Empty. It’s all good and similar in style to All Wrong. Definitely listen to No More Love.

It’s too bad that singer David Reilly suffered from a heroin addiction and then died in 2005. 😞

Let me first say that I’m an animal lover as much as the next Dr. Doolittle. It’s rare that I meet a dog or cat and they don’t end up liking me sooner or later. I think mostly that’s because I don’t care if they like me or not.

However, the neighbor’s dog and myself, we don’t get along. He barks at me from his yard every time I’m outside in my yard. Or when I’m walking to or from my garage. Bark, bark, bark.

Obviously he’s got the short man complex.

I was listening to Fresh Air on WBEZ a few minutes ago and they replayed Terry Gross’ interview with Harry Anderson. It was from 1998 I think. I looked for the audio but didn’t have any luck.

Anyways, I lost my interest in magic, cards, and picking locks right around puberty but I’ve always admired Harry Anderson. He was humble, confident, and funny. Most of all I think he was sincere. All the things I hope I am today.

I also like that he was a con man who got a part on Cheers by being who he was and not by being an actor, or somebody who he wasn’t.

These little scilla were always hidden under the bushes until I trimmed them up last year. Maybe they’ll spread around now. And I’m always grateful when color comes back to the yard, to the world.

In related news, being a cynic doesn’t appeal to me much these days.
