The Illinois Senate on Sunday adopted a resolution urging law enforcement officials to recognize white nationalist and neo-Nazi groups as terrorist organizations.
The resolution comes in response to the violent weekend in Charlottesville, Va., where a woman who was protesting a rally staged by white nationalists was killed after a driver who participated in the rally drove a car into a line of vehicles.
“It is vital that we stand in total opposition to the hatred, bigotry and violence displayed by the white nationalist and neo-Nazi groups in Charlottesville this past weekend,” said sponsoring Sen. Don Harmon, D-Oak Park. “They are the heirs to the Ku Klux Klan and the Nazis. We fought two bloody wars in opposition to their ideologies. We must continue to fight those same twisted ideologies today.”
I’ve been going so far as to say that the powers that be should amend the Constitution to ban hate groups from parading around in public.
What the Illinois Senate did is better. Let people marching with Confederate and Nazi swastika flags be legally known for what they are.

I don’t know how much legal weight the resolution has but it’d be nice if it gave the police the authority to stop them from parading around with their flags and signs and shields. I’m hoping more states will adopt similar, too. Give organizations just cause for denying the almighty “permit” to incite hate and oppression.
Again, I don’t know the resolution’s legalities but these are my hopeful assumptions.
Definitely a step in the right direction by taking away their public podiums.

Audio (MP3): 20170816 - Morning drinks mute the fires of hell
And then there was that one time when it was 8 or 8:15 in the morning. I had called in sick the last couple of days because I’d been drinking. Too much. I called in[1] that morning, too, because there wasn’t any way I was going to be able to pull myself out of it. Not that day for sure.
And Hell was especially hot that morning because I had not a drop to drink. Whatever I’d been drinking those past few “sick” days was gone and that wouldn’t do.

I don’t remember what “easy way” I was searching for 1:17am last Saturday but the second result suggestion made me stop and hmm… 🤔
While reviewing with Sara last night, she pointed out that it’s “commit a suicide” which peaked my curiosity even more. Maybe you get to do more than one.
Further wondering: are these auto-suggests time sensitive? So at 1:17am you get the “commit suicide” tips and then at 7:11am you get the “cook bacon” variety?
Final wondering: do they offer the “lose weight” as the third choice to give me a nudge that if I wasn’t so fat I wouldn’t be thinking of killing myself.

I’ve watched a lot of videos trying to see what exactly happened when James Fields drove his car down the street. The videos showed different angles and some only with him going in reverse.
Many of the alt-right have suggested that people were attacking his car with bats while he helplessly sat there. Then he gunned it in reversed, possibly in fear for his life.
The videos below are best I’ve found and show a bigger picture. Be aware, everything about them makes me sick.

What’s more is that he appears to initially slam his Challenger into the back of another car and that car in turn hit a minivan which then hit more people. Below is the drone video which shows all that.
A drone captured the terrifying moment a car plowed into the crowd in Charlottesville, Virginia

I’m watching NBC news. I can’t stand it. I’m outnumbered 3 to me most nights at work.
I try to go back to the impromptu “news conference” he gave in early Jan. It was so obvious he had no plan. He did not expect to win. He’s nervous, guilty, without a clue.
On the news tonight he’s defending the notion that there are 2 sides to every story, including this one.

Context is everything but these words are truthy:
“To me, clowns aren’t funny. In fact, they’re kind of scary. I’ve wondered where this started, and I think it goes back to
the time I went to the circus and a clown killed my dad.”
This is attributed to Al Franken as Jack Handy on the bigassweb.

Did you see Scaramucci on Colbert Monday night?

Granted Antifa are a bunch of assholes just the same but ya, Trump bringing up the permit over and over again like that somehow makes white supremacists good to go.
As far as I’m concerned they should amend the constitution to ban hate groups from parading around in public. They incite fear and violence wherever they go. You can’t go around the workplace promoting such but we allow it at our universities? Facebook and Twitter should ban them as well.
Confederacy? Stick all that shit in a museum. Somebody on Twitter even said that the Civil War wasn’t only about slavery.

Saw this yesterday on the social medias.
Maggie and I have been talking as of late on the theory that there aren’t bad people, just people who do bad things.
But sometimes you gotta wonder.

As a friend pointed out on FB…
“There may not be bad people, but there are people who keep doing very bad things over and over”

I shouldn’t have been working on my columns after the sun went down but I had Zack de la Rocha singing “fuck you I won’t do what you tell me.” Hard to resist sticking it to conformity.

I suppose I should get up and make dinner instead of admiring myself on Instagram
