My older brother got mad and ripped all mine off π’
I spent a whole week’s worth of allowance on that cube and now it looks dumb. Of course I like black as much as much as the next soulless tramp but I can’t go to Rubik conventions anymore. I can’t even take the darn cube out in public. I’m the laughing stock of the whole neighborhood.
Also, thoughts on black licorice? Don’t tell me I’m the only one who loves that sweet southern European root extract.

Did you post this on the Geneva group? π€£

Ya, but they deleted it sometime over the night. It may have been the “soulless tramp” bit… π€

Perhaps it was a request by ErnΕ Rubik’s lawyers.

You will not deface any cube with your after-market replacement stickers! Nor will you solicit your peers for such!
keamoose
· Oct 12, 2017 at 11:53 am
Ooh, yeah, after-market stickers would probably void the warranty. You don’t know what kind of adhesive is on them; it could affect the integrity of the cube material.

Dissolving cubes?? THE HORROR. Rumor has it you can actually by sticker sheets.

All I know is that’s why you’re not supposed to put stickers on a hardhat. Not that that stops anyone.
Are they officially licensed Rubik stickers? Can I use them to Rubrikate other things?
tcr!
· Oct 13, 2017 at 6:46 am
“No stickers on hardhats” is that a real thing?
Ah… after a quick le google I see that they may hide dents or cracks thereby concealing defects.
And after another quick le google I see that Rubik offers their own replacement stickers:
https://www.rubiks.com/store/cubes/3x3-replacement-stickers
They even sell all black cubes:

I finally got 100 subscribers on the Overcast podcast app. Not sure how many for the other guys since they don’t provide much reporting data.
Also, here’s my podcast on the Overcast website: overcast.fm/itunes1273577110/tcr-diaries-podcast
Overcast is definitely my favorite podcast app on iPhone.
But woo-hoo!

I’ve always wondered who the unnamed character was. I always assumed it was No-I-Dont or Eggs-I-Wont.

I think he’s Mr. Knox from Fox in Socks.
That wasn’t intended to rhyme, but I like that it does.

I thought so, too, but I think Mr. Knox has a collar. Maybe they’re cousins. π€

I hate days when I’m so tired that I feel absolutely nothing. Nothing good. Nothing bad. Just feel a voided disconnection.
And then it’s grey and rainy out and the only thing I want to do is crawl in bed after work and watch John Wick.
It’s not that I don’t want to respond to emails or messages. It’s just that I don’t have the brainpower.
Feeling empty reminds me of when I was drunk at four in the morning in the basement watching Radar Men from the Moon.
I felt nothing.
I hate feeling nothing.

Buying someone a pack of gum isn’t good enough. Even if it’s their favorite.
Also, this is where my mind goes when I’m tired and it’s rainy.

Uh-huh.
My question was prompted by something a “behavioral economist” said on NPR. Something along the lines of…
How will we know when AI becomes conscious? They could be conscious or they could be pretending.
I immediately rejected his question because the moment robots turn on you, you’ll know.

Well, I suppose I should get new tires now that I can see the steel belts everybody’s always raving about.
keamoose
· Oct 10, 2017 at 10:33 am
Your tires are making me cringe. I’ve never seen a tire that worn, probably because it would literally be impossible to get out of the driveway with them during a Canadian winter.

When it rains while I’m driving, the front end will often sway left and right because it has very little grip. That makes me a little nervous and even more so when I’m going over a bridge.
I live on the edge, though. I don’t even have valid license plates.
keamoose
· Oct 10, 2017 at 1:58 pm
The license plates don’t bother me at all. Stick it to the man. I’m just all about the safety. I think it’s the engineering training.

I did try to get new tires before I drove for an hour and 45 minutes to the Lake House on Sunday afternoon. And then back on Monday morning. I really did!!

Don’t try this at home.
I drove on a “spare” tiny donut tire an entire Iowa winter. Circa ‘90-‘91. I drove all the tread off of it. People were alarmed. They would see me pull into work again tonight on that little thing and they couldn’t believe it.
This tireless (i know, i’m not so good at these) piece of rubber was mounted on a Mercury Bobcat, the glamourous version of the Ford Pinto. (I hope I got my models right.) I was in love with a girl when I had that kind of machinery. I was IN love with THE girl during this madness. I see kids today that say they can’t do this or that until this or that falls into place and I remember times like this. I was probably just shy of 6 ft tall and weighed a whopping 130 lbs. I had the original Jerry Seinfeld “do” or what I hoped looked like it and I felt like I invented p***y. Just a man and his machine.
Oops…was that out loud? This stream is flooded and raging out of control.
I’m sure I like the music from these days so much because it reminds of all the other good things from those days.
**** said that if the tape played through again she was gonna stop. (!)

All of this, “yes.” A man and his machine and his love for a girl.
I had a girl named Mary and a Mustang named Black.
