It’s a safe bet that Nest CEO Tony Fadell is not too happy with Google staff engineer Brad Fitzpatrick right now. Fitzpatrick last week posted a video that showed Nest’s Nest Protect smoke alarms badly misbehaving in his home. In fact, despite the fact that his house was not on fire, the alarms kept going off and he was unable to find a way to get them to shut up. Fitzpatrick says he posted the video for one reason: To warn people away from buying Nest Protect.
Sounds delightful.
More details on Fitzpatrick’s Google+ post.

Ain’t nothing more shameful than taking a full garbage can back to the garage because you missed the pickup.

Peeps, here’s your video for Friday… They have to be one my most favorite bands. The video looks like my laptop during a work day, with graphics instead of webpages. And the lyrics are exactly the kind word-smith-y goodness you’d expect from any decent band.
We’ll end up numb from playing video games
and we’ll get sick of having sex.
And we’ll get fat from eating candy
as we drink ourselves to death.
We’ll stay up late
making mix tapes,photoshoping pictures of ourselves
while we masturbate to these pixelated videos
of strangers fucking themselves.We are very busy people,
We are very busy people.There’s crusty socks
and stacks of pizza boxes
making trails straight to the bed.
And when we’re done sleeping
we’ll stay busy dreaming of the things
we don’t have yet.
Well there’s a long, long list of chores
and shit to do before we play,
oh let’s just piss away the day.(piss away the day)
Crank call the cops down at the station,
just for friendly conversation,
requesting songs they never play;
Let’s hear the one that goes like:We are very busy people,
We are very busy people;
But we’ve always got time for new friends.So come on over and knock on our door,
it’s open whatchu waitin’ for?
We might be sprawled out on the floor,
but we still make lovely company.
Pull up a chair, I’ll pour some tea,
We’ll shoot the shit, ‘bout everything,
till you get sick of politics,
and flip on the TV screen,
we stare at the TV screen.
That Donnie Darko DVD has been repeating for a week,
and we know every single word.
(Every single word).
I’ve got an iPod like a pirate ship,
I’ll sail the seas
with fifty thousand songs I’ve never heard-
And all the best of them goFa la la la la la…
Fa la la la la la…

so i saw the “love is a dog from hell” viddy. i love their sound. on the “love is a dog” vid, around the minute 15 sec mark the drum fill defines them for me. i also loved the complete sexiness of their vids. the juxtaposition of black and white and boys and girls. the girl wearing her black jacket and white undies. it was definitely the whole package. even without the vid their sound is serious sexy. i saw several of their other vids the last time you got me started on them.

Ya, I love pretty much everything about them. The music, the lyrics, the videos, the whole vibe they lay out. Their history is kind of interesting.
“Through this collaborative process, without ever meeting face-to-face, they managed to construct multiple songs.”

Aspen, Colorado: Ten years after the death of iconoclastic American writer Hunter S. Thompson, his “political DNA” still runs deep in the Rocky Mountains town he called home.

i’ve seen this photo in numerous articles, books, etc. i think warren zevon includes it in his greatest hits box set. i rarely dabbled with typewriters until they had a screen atttached, but everyone can identify with this feeling.

My creativity isnt done either-shoot-i might very well be co-creating the next illusion im born n2 :-D & all art & letters lost n the past were experienced by those who needed them. I believe that especially after several trips 2 various places past. Some @ levels unknown 2 me within myself were left as markers, things i had completely 4gotten creating appeared n homes of people i had know idea i gave them 2. Anyway, the desire 2 create A&L is not around or sex or money or things but that doesnt mean i wont reach a higher ideal-just comfortably plateaud right now-hell i got a bucket & mop & now that i think about it-a book about birds i bought from library :-D
It takes alot of creativity energy 2 manufacture a an illusion, allow the infinite power of your consciousness 2 tighten up the nuts & bolts of the physics, fill n the blank spots, & the like so it will b believable enuf when u r born there. :-è

This is why I absolutely hate working on another developer’s code:
if (false) { }
That was the last line of the WordPress wp-config.php
file from a WP Engine site.
Seeing crap likes this does nothing but waste people’s time.
