Walgreens plans to close about 200 U.S. stores as the nation’s largest drugstore chain expands on a $1 billion cost-reduction plan it announced last August.
The Deerfield company said Thursday that it also will reorganize its corporate operations and streamline its information technology and other functions. It expects the moves to add $500 million to its estimate for cost savings from its three-year plan.
The store closings amount to about 2 percent of the 8,232 drugstores it runs in the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
This restructuring might have something to do with why we lost a project with them here at the desk day job last year.
It was well underway, at least three planning meetings, wireframes, database structures, etc. And it was one of those nice big six-figure budget projects.
Then they pulled the plug from under the rug and wanted their deposit back.

I do the same. Sometimes I also hold off on commenting just to absorb the material a little more. And other times I hold off posting things just so another post can stay higher, longer.
