When I’m around you guys it’s easy to be my best self.
I would almost say that it comes naturally. I don’t even think about it.
But there are other times when I’m around other people when there’s nothing easy about being a good person. It takes 100% of my concentration. It takes dedicated and duplicated prayers. It takes front-burner, fore-thought action.
It takes getting to know and being comfortable with my anger beforehand so it’s not overwhelming when I’m around the jerks who live only in their own worlds, who live from only their own point of view.[1]
It takes regular and routine reseting so I don’t get lost in the chaos. It takes pretending to care even when I honestly don’t.
Because at the end of the day people are going to hurt us. They’re going to give us reasons to be angry. The trick is to love them anyway. At all costs.
Granted I do, too, at times but somewhere along the way I was clued into thinking about you guys, too. Your wants, your needs, your feelings before letting what I want become too much of a priority. ↑

I’ve done it. The hospital will want to super glue it together but like, Super glue is cheap so I’d say if you’ve got steady hands do it your self.

Of all the times I’ve hurt myself they’ve always used stitches and staples. I feel like I’m missing out on this superglue craze everybody is raving about these days.

They like to push stitches/ staples because if the wound gets reopened it’s less damaging.

And yep, that’s the Impossible Burger, vegetarian and all. It was almost too good to be true. A meatosaur could easily be fooled. My only thought is that They should have hey barbecue sauce option in addition to the teriyaki sauce. BBQ and coleslaw are like PB and J.

Sara: I would. It would probably take you 45 minutes to an hour. Did you map it?
Me: I have a general idea of where the city is. Personal experience is always better though. š
Me: “Would you do this?” trumps all maps, jobs, restaurants, etc
Sara: Yep. I would totally drive an hour for a good job but I’m not you. Traffic would probably be the worst when you got on the highway, which would be the last 15 minutes or so.
Me: Are you saying I have a hard time behind the wheel?
Sara: “Commuting to West Chicago wouldn’t be bad.”
Me: Hahahaaa! Oh yeah.
Sara: I wouldn’t use commute and West Chicago in the same sentence š
Me: Gotcha. I regularly commute to my bedroom and boy, lemme tell ya…
Sara: If it was a job you’d like, then I’d at least apply. You can always judge the commute when you go for the interview
Me: Yep. I just applied for it. It’s another with that same company that pulled the one job listing down two months after I went to apply.
Me: I’m slow but effective.
Me: Or something.

Audio (MP3): 20180929 - Almost empty McDonalds
I’m sitting in the McDonalds on State Street in Geneva. Because Egg McMuffins.
This is also the place where Maggie’s mom and I told Maggie that we were getting divorced. It was the most painful conversation I’ve ever had. The most painful day ever. Watching her little nine year old face panic as the conversation unfolded.
It wasn’t a long conversation but it lasted forever to me.
A therapist said to do it in public so the hurt would live outside the home. Sometimes breakups really better are in public. Sometimes it’s the better way out.
And as we were driving back home, the three of us, I thought to myself, “I’m never going to that fucking place again.”
But here I am. Cuppa years later.
Because one of the best things I learned was to “give it some time.”
For as long as it takes. Don’t make up your mind. Just put it down. Don’t rush healing. Don’t rush the feeling. Let the pain fade. It will if we don’t force its end.

That’s an interesting theory about a public place. I had never ever heard that before. I guess it would really just depend on all the people involved as to whether or not you wanted that displayed in a public place… Definitely food for thoughtful! Time has a way of healing everything

First, talk to your financial advisor, BUT You still have the 401k and you can still contribute to it. Your employer does not have to contribute. You may need to convert the existing 401K into an IRA…

Tell him that you totally understand a 401K is a luxury that most employers don’t offer anymore. Tell him too, that most employers do offer salaried employees heath insurance and you’d be willing to accept that in exchange for your 401K benefits.
Ask for a raise so you can contribute to an IRA.

What you have contributed to it remains yours as does the contributions an employer has made up to the point they stopped contributing. That’s my understanding.
