If news is plural for new why is it not acceptable to say “These news are great” ?
Or, more importantly how do I refer to multiple news?

I’m watching Bear Grylls on this Sunday afternoon. He’s wandering around in the Australia outback. He’s been out there a couple of hours. “Well, I guess I’ll have to drink my own pee.”
All I can think is, “dude…it’s not even lunch time you’re already resorting to this?!” ðģ Seriously, the episode has been on for 8 minutes 28 seconds.

When recording a podcast I have to be in the right state of mind. It’s a performance of sorts.m and I do my best to recapture or get into the emotional headspace of what I originally wrote.
But it’s frustratingly hard when I’m being distracted by the gotdam planes.

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for the coronavirus early Friday — 32 days before Election Day and while voters are already casting ballots. It’s a stunning reminder that the northwest gate of the White House, where senior staff, VIPs and journalists gain entry to the 18-acre complex, is made of metal bars and not medical masks or face shields. Campaign rallies, candidate debates and rope lines at airport pit-stops offer even fewer protections — even for the most powerful person in the world.
More 2020 I guess.

If you ingurgitate wine in the gurges, you’re likely to regurgitate. From the twirling.

I have to find out.
I’m disappointed in the way English does this. You have to talk about pieces of news, or news items. ððð I feel like we need to invent the plural newses. It would be better. And then we could also have “a news”. https://www.espressoenglish.net/is-news-singular-or-plural/
I hate “news items” more than jelly fish. The word “items” is vague and unexciting.
The good news is, if you convince enough people, you can change the language. I’m thinking we could use 60s Batman sound effect words to give an indication of news excitement level. How about a news kapow? News bam? News biff?
Oh, news biff: I’m hearing more people refer to “jellies” nowadays instead of jelly fish, if that helps.
