But then I DO get depressed. Not because of the questions. Because I work with people who not only voted for Trump but support him, whatever that means. They don’t like to think about things they don’t understand, or even acknowledge that there are such things. So they make up a fairy tale and blame negroes. (God, I’m amusing.)

t, i work with people who literally get insulted by questions if they don’t know the answer. I was in denial for a good long time about the whole Trump thing and now everyone is getting resigned and I’m imploding. I saw an article on FB where a woman was lamenting the stats of how many really stupid people are out there. i work with most of ‘em.
they didn’t expect him to win either. like him, they had no idea what came next. like him, they feel cornered and guilty. they are not pleasant to be around. like him, their answer to everything is just more of the campaign type bleating. “The Wall?!” are you fucking kidding me? how is this relevant?
then you’ll hear something about how jobs are being stolen. you’ll hear this from people who are either employed or don’t want to be.
i use this as a sounding board because if i put it on FB they’ll see and get fidgety.

My fave is when people say that it really is fake news. “You can’t believe everything you hear on TV, they’re just hyping the Russian crap.”

John Cleese meme, when he’s exasperated by the idiocy brigade.

One big surprise was the total overhaul of Android’s emoji. Nearly every emoji has been redrawn in a new style, and all of the yellow “blob” face designs are gone. The new emoji all get better 3D shading and generally end up with a design a lot closer to what you’d get on iOS. We have dutifully chronicled every new emoji in the gallery above.
I still think Apple’s are the best. The ones above look like they were done by teenagers and that’s pretty much doing that age group a disservice. Still better than the gumdrops for Preview 1 though.
Have a look at the current Face Blowing a Kiss emoji comparison for the various tech giants.
I cringe every time I use Facebook Messenger and see their emoji set in action. It’s horrible. They don’t even look round to me with that quarter moon orange shadow. And then the Firefox set remind me of babies.
Ya, I know…everybody’s a critic.

It took Ridley Scott 35 years, but the sci-fi filmmaking legend finally got to make his version of Aliens. All it took to get there was a decades-long dwindling of the series, a kind-of-but-not-exactly reboot in the form of 2012’s Prometheus, and a five-year cloud of confusion for series fans. Maybe that was Scott’s game plan all along!
At any rate, now we have Alien Covenant, and it’s probably as much of a James Cameron-styled film as we may ever get out of Scott. But that makes Covenant sound more accessible than it really is. If you’re a longtime series fan and have grown into either an apologist or a hater, you’re going to love this sequel’s adherence to Alien film lore, its zillions of answers, and its return to terror sequences chock full of gooey, murderous xenomorphs.
If you’re just looking for some solid sci-fi, on the other hand, you may find yourself adrift. This movie is only going to work if you at least have a clue about what happened in Prometheus—even though Alien Covenant is a completely different kind of film.
I think most people going will have a clue.

Ok. I know you’ve seen it now. I gotta say, it sucked. Big Green Donkey Dicks. It wasn’t any good. It was bunk. That dog won’t hunt.
I liked parts of it. Other parts should go on an Apology Tour. It sucked so bad, I had to ——-ck it while I was ———— — — —— with a pair of ======= in order to get any kind of friction.
Like changing a flat in a blizzard with no gloves and the trucker rides by and splashes you with the window down laughing and Journey blasting from his 8 track.
I know we all know what the Alien looks like but the reveal was too soon and too much. And the idea of what is obviously a person in an Alien suit hurdies my gurdies.
Unless of course if you loved it. In that case, i guess it was an eclectic effort and revolutionary in it’s approach.

I did like it overall but still gathering my thoughts. I have a hard being realistic or objective because I was so excited to see it.
The xenomorph on the cargo lift doing its thing, head butts, drool — that plays to everything I love about them.
I do think they had to put the aliens more front and center after the Predator-crossover farce and the meager teases we got in Prometheus.

Those were my initial thougthts. I sat with it and I will again before I deliniate my objections.
I LOVED the first 2. They were a great time in my life. I should not have been expecting that to happen again.

UPS guy was in the stall using his handheld tracking thing. I heard the clicks and beeps and the occasional grunt.
I really wanted to ask him if he could look up a package for me but I figured he had his hands full.

I’m glad nobody was around when the back gate blew off last night. It’d have put your eye out.
