I found a planner from 1991 while basement cleaning earlier. I used it as a journal of sorts for much of the year. No real emotion, more facts of the daily adventures and non-adventures. I didn’t read too much from it because I don’t like to revisit certain lost eras.
However, I did write something toward the back about somebody by the name of Melville and his thoughts on sanity and insanity. How they were akin to the “points in the rainbow where one color begins and another ends.”

I was driving my youngest daughter and her friend over to yet another of friend’s house moments ago.
As we drove by the Campana building I offhandedly remarked, “if I had some spare change I’d buy that building and have a fireman pole installed at the top of the tower down to the ground floor.”
My daughter and her friend responded only with silence as 101.9 continued to play whatever it plays in the background.
Feeling slightly slighted I continued, “do either of you have any thoughts on this gravitational installation?”

When I don’t get enough serious sleep both my ears ring with that piercing, high-pitched tone. It’s louder in the right ear than in the left. Like the whirl that a dental drill makes before it ruins your life.
Does that ringing happen to you guys, too? Or do you all just sleep like normal humans?

Zebras are famous for their contrasting black and white stripes – but until very recently no one really knew why they sport their unusual striped pattern. It’s a question that’s been discussed as far back as 150 years ago by great Victorian biologists like Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace.
Since then many ideas have been put on the table but only in the last few years have there been serious attempts to test them. These ideas fall into four main categories: Zebras are striped to evade capture by predators, zebras are striped for social reasons, zebras are striped to keep cool, or they have stripes to avoid attack by biting flies.
I’ve waited my whole life for this.

Sometimes I check my email with dread. It’s so nice to feel the opposite afterward.
Me yesterday:
The website was timing out during upload but I’ve fixed this and also imported all four of your CE spreadsheets.
Xxxxxx today:
I just made them all active! So exciting!
Thank you again! You are a Prince! ;->
Best way to start the workday, even better that it’s a Friday workday. π

Three years ago I started keeping a notebook sort of as a planner. I did this because Mom told me about one that she was given that was her mothers. Same type of deal with the contents just daily activities. Like yours mine started out impersonal - appointments, phone calls I made/received, and things I needed to follow up on.
Oh and most importantly what and when I fixed something for supper (hate to food poison myself easy way to prevent this) I thought it might be neat for my kids to look at some day or even my grand-kids. Over the course of the last three years darn thing has evolved as….you guessed it a journal full of emotions splattered everywhere. Now I’m not so sure I want anyone to read it :)
100% of the emotional things I write, I don’t want anyone to read it. Myself included. :)
