According to the Political Typology Quiz, I am a Steadfast Conservative. Although a lot of the questions were easy to answer, several were hard to agree or disagree with.

For example, one of the questions asked if I believed government assistance did more harm or good. I’m stuck on that one. I was born homeless to a 16 year old coked out stripper, and yet here I am having served my country for 5 years and earning my Bachelor’s. Granted, I am adopted and was raised in a Christian home. I don’t agree nor disagree with that answer. I believe government assistance is good in that it helps people get back on their feet, or stabilizes them while a family member is out of work, for example.

However, there are those in this country who would rather sit on their good-for-nothing arses and suck up all of our precious resources and live for free off the system, while young people like me fight for their freedoms every day!

Overall, I would agree with being a Conservative. I’m a Christian, I believe America is NOT the World Police/Ambulatory service, and I also believe foreigners (illegal, some Muslim types) are ripping the Christian, democratic foundation out of this very country. They came to our country for a reason, we should not change who we are for them. That’s all, before I get aggravated over the thought of our nation turning Islamic.

The Constitution says we should all be Christians after all.

Synthesized ‘solar’ jet fuel: Renewable kerosene from sunlight, water and carbon dioxide

With the first ever production of synthesized “solar” jet fuel, the EU-funded SOLAR-JET project has successfully demonstrated the entire production chain for renewable kerosene obtained directly from sunlight, water and carbon dioxide, therein potentially revolutionizing the future of aviation. This process has also the potential to produce any other type of fuel for transport applications, such as diesel, gasoline or pure hydrogen in a more sustainable way.

Another article I read on this noted that using this process, jets could be zero emissions.

Portland Police arrest 35 in Black Friday vegan strip club riot

While millions of shoppers throughout the United States were fighting cold weather and crowds for the best deals, hundreds of people in Portland, Ore. overwhelmed a vegan strip club in the early morning hours of Black Friday.

Casa Diablo, billed as the world’s first vegan strip club, held its first ever Black Friday sale Nov. 28, and was clearly unprepared for the onslaught of excited customers who braved the rain for hours for the club’s 5 a.m. opening.

Patrons of the Northwest Portland establishment got into a brawl over 59¢ a minute lap dances, despite the club’s attempt to be prepared by having 24 dancers available that morning.

“We were utterly blown away by the amount of customers who showed up this morning,” said Cruelty-free Cleopatra, who is one of the club’s most popular dancers.

The notion of automatic local backups to far off clouds is a good one. I had been using Google Drive since it came out a few years back and with Apple’s new iCloud offering and my new iPhone I thought I’d migrate once Yosemite came out.

I opted for the 250GB plan and drug all our photos (gigs and gigs and more gigs) to the iCloud folder in Finder. Needless to say, it didn’t go too well.

What they really mean when they say…

Any kind of file. On all your devices.”

All of your files. On all your devices.

Sure enough Apple’s iCloud moved the whole photo collection up to their cloud but they also tried to move the whole photo collection down to my 8GB phone. Smooth move Apple.

I was greeted with, You have one thimble of space left on your phone when I picked it up to see what the Internets had tonight. I had to fritter about and drag the photo collection back to the Google Drive folder. I also downgraded to the 20GB plan and hope my iPhone does the right thing and takes them off the phone.

Funny thing is that I can’t even see them on my phone since Apple implemented the sync so it “just works” and therefore you can’t actually see all the files you sync.

And then there’s iCloud’s Mail that seems to thrash about for a good 5 minutes whenever I move an email from one folder to another. So I’ve stopped using that service completely (old IMAP is a hundred times more reliable) and don’t even get me started again on how Apple jacked up Mail.app.

The hell is up, Apple, with all these shitty implementations?

Google creeps me out anymore so the revert is just a temp thing. Maybe I’ll have another look at Dropbox’s pricing plans.
