carrie meant bidness. she’s also a soul who lost her way. probably just trying to feel light. she admits the part about losing her way, which is an important step. i love that these pics show how full of life and light and love this time was for her. maybe there was pain going on behind the smiles, i don’t have an autobiography, but she seems genuine to me, always has. the force definitely smiled on the creation that is carrie.

Me: What’s the play you’re in today about again?

Maggie: Well, it’s an Edgar Allen Poe play and nobody knows what his stuff is about anyway.

I always thought I “knew” Edgar was an opium addict. Everything I know is from the Wik but it seems he suffered before he died and died more or less mysteriously. It’s probably invented memory but I thought I knew the part about him being incoherent and possibly beaten when he was found. Methinks he was at a “house” and got disoriented and robbed. Probably knocked on his head in the process. I have to agree with M that nobody knows what it’s about though. Apparently wrote to make money and wrote with an audience in mind, so that could be anything.
That has to be an awesome teacher to stage Poe during the holidays though. Usually limited to the Jesus fever or Peanuts.

may i borrow this? i will gladly credit you or whoever but i like it too much to pass it up. it’s that place where art and spirituality meld and we all go kangaroo for awhile. kangaroo is being used by me as a verb, adjective and noun, i suspect. i can’t stop now if i wanted. Kangaroo is one of my favorite words. it’s nothing less than disney land on acid with a heavy set from the Quicksilver Messenger Service for the soundtrack.

Tetris Syndrome: A Mind Made of Blocks on podcast: Stuff To Blow Your Mind

To play a game of “Tetris” is to invite a geometric invasion into your mind. After hours of intense block manipulation, you finally set aside your gaming device. You take a deep breath, close your eyes — and there the frenzied, multicolored tetrominoes continue to cascade across your vision. They build walls in your dreams and shape the patterns of your very thought. What’s going on inside the mind of a “Tetris” player and what can we learn from so-called “Tetris” syndrome. In this episode of Stuff to Blow Your Mind, Robert and Joe explore.

Just over an hour but there’s some good game history there.

Boughten.

tcr! · Oct 26, 2015 at 8:55 pm

Adj. irregular past participle of buy; as an adjective from 1793

I like irregularities.

I like particles better than participles.

sodared.com - my new podcast player

tcr! · Oct 13, 2015 at 11:54 am

I’ve been out of touch with tcrbang.com, I know…

I’ve been spending quite a bit of time rebuilding sodared.com as the premier web-based podcast player. Check out when you have a minute, it’s fully functional with a tad quirky now and again.

And the search is pretty awesome, too: sodared.com/search/?q=Alabama+Shakes

I use it on my Mac while I’m working and on my phone while I’m cleaning the kitchen. It should work on pretty much any device with a browser built after 2012.

More soon.
