Guys, feast your eyeballs on these photos I took only moments ago. The city of St. Charles is hosting a Pumpkin Composting Event tomorrow (Sat Nov 3) from 8am to 12pm at the Municipal Utilities Complex. That’s on Devereaux Way off of Riverside Avenue, just south of Langum Park.
Update: I actually went (even though I don’t like people) and added a second set of photos .. 👍

The only thing I can grow consistently and with minimal effort is mini pumpkins. I got over ten this year by doing absolutely nothing other than throwing last years into the garden.

Oh my god! Fruit that actually reproduces on it’s own!! You don’t find that in most produce anymore!

I love these little dudes, they remind me of Fall and Halloween. I’m not sure I’m ready for the Autumn weather just yet, though.

I have pumpkins growing also! But they were late volunteers and have yet to bloom. Just seeing yours gives me optimism! Best time of year!!

I wandered around in here like moron for five minutes before I remembered what I was here for. But that’s irrelevant.
Look at this flier in the checkout lane, guys! Pumpkin decorating! And apple cider donuts!! Saturday the 28th from 11am to 2pm.
Go ahead and drive/train/fly in if you’re out of town. Apple cider donuts are THAT good.
No, I don’t work at Blue Goose but IT IS the friendliest store around. 👍

Well, I guess for compensation I’ll need to eat “vanilla ice cream sandwiched between chocolate chip cookies and rolled in mini chocolate chips.”

Prob either a chipmunk (the kind that I murder on sight) or one of the handful of squirrels I feed. There’s one we call “Hungry” who couldn’t get enough to eat if you shoved peanuts in his mouth.

it looks like 5th and Market. The Episcopal church where we had Thursday night. Affectionately known as Red Door.
in the directors cut, the pumpkins were larvae, and they morphed into these things with long vines they used for strangling unsuspecting peters and pollies picking, and piling pumpkins not to mention peacocks, penguins and parrots, the odd pontiff parading his pool of prepubescent prayer boys.

In the producer's cut, the pumpkins were prisoners of the people's parish, pardons (presumed) were prolonged until popular voting in Prague resumed. Or maybe that was the pesky prequel.
