My favorite part is “In Henry Miller’s Tropic of Cancer, he describes an acquaintance, “Moldorf”, who has prescriptions for Weltschmerz on scraps of paper in his pocket.”, which, you’d have to admit, would be interesting documents to own. }
T: Re: Bowie song, “Heroes”. I always think of me and her when he starts the song:
You
You can be mean
And me
I’ll drink all the time
And I don’t know what to do when I don’t drink except not drink. I read a fair bit more than necessary or healthy. And by read, of course I mean masturbate.
The absolute best songs are the ones that aren’t specific but then perfectly are to each of us.
Yep, I read, watch movies, hang out with my peeps, shuck and jive with Maggie, do laundry, wash my truck, troll the internet, take pictures with my phone and tweak them until they’re just right. Sometimes I’ll pet the cats backwards because I know they love it. I bitch and moan about shit I don’t like until I don’t care about it anymore. Sometimes I play video games for hours on end. When it’s not winter I’ll ride my bike up and down the river trails.
I’ll obsess about Joan Jett or Garp or pie.
When I’m feeling extra spiritual I’ll write about hope. I guess it’s the things that normal people do… Looking for meaning *in* life.
Burroughs said something along the lines of how we’re cursed because we know cherry highs and we’ll always be longing because of that.
