So Maggie and I have been watching a kids baking competition the last couple of days and this morning one of the kids burnt his hand while cooking. It was pretty heartbreaking and nobody was sure he’d finish.
But something nothing short of awesome happened: another kid competitor came over and helped him. Peeps, it was wonderful. Life’s not about winning, it’s about people. ❤️
If I ever need to remember how to be a better person, I’ll rarely go wrong looking to children for clues.

t: have a look at my nephew Joe’s FB page. his little girl Lexie is something me and my brothers were not besides a girl: she’s kind. Lexie is my great niece. do you have any greats yet?
my brothers and i were evil little brats. we did shit i’d like to take back. we were little kids, i’m talking before puberty, but we were MEAN!!!
i only been in a couple real fights in my life and i beat ‘em both bloody. (translation: they were real pussy’s, but still) one of those boys is a great big man today and i swear he still gives me a wide berth.
i was kind of out control with one of them.
sam roger’s, the teacher at jr. high?
he picked me up by the scruff of the kneck off of this kid.

Yep, Morgan has two boys and a girl. They’re great kids, bonded in a look out for each other kinda way. I wished I lived closer to them.
You said once something along the lines of… “you can never go wrong being a better person.” Being kind is regular goal of mine. Keeps me from doing more of the “shit i’d like to take back” kinda stuff.
But…some junior high kids just might have it coming.

“Reasonably happy, most of the time” — I say that more often than not in meetings. It’s a good moon to shoot for.
