Yep, I take two or three stems inside and put them on tators or scrambled eggs.

the stem looks like what i know as chives. what about the flower? do they render or mix or is it not food?

It’s usually considered best to eat chives before they get flowers, when they look more like grass. They’re more tender then. But as far as I know the flowers are edible too.
