Your tires are making me cringe. I’ve never seen a tire that worn, probably because it would literally be impossible to get out of the driveway with them during a Canadian winter.

When it rains while I’m driving, the front end will often sway left and right because it has very little grip. That makes me a little nervous and even more so when I’m going over a bridge.
I live on the edge, though. I don’t even have valid license plates.

The license plates don’t bother me at all. Stick it to the man. I’m just all about the safety. I think it’s the engineering training.

I did try to get new tires before I drove for an hour and 45 minutes to the Lake House on Sunday afternoon. And then back on Monday morning. I really did!!

Don’t try this at home.
I drove on a “spare” tiny donut tire an entire Iowa winter. Circa ‘90-‘91. I drove all the tread off of it. People were alarmed. They would see me pull into work again tonight on that little thing and they couldn’t believe it.
This tireless (i know, i’m not so good at these) piece of rubber was mounted on a Mercury Bobcat, the glamourous version of the Ford Pinto. (I hope I got my models right.) I was in love with a girl when I had that kind of machinery. I was IN love with THE girl during this madness. I see kids today that say they can’t do this or that until this or that falls into place and I remember times like this. I was probably just shy of 6 ft tall and weighed a whopping 130 lbs. I had the original Jerry Seinfeld “do” or what I hoped looked like it and I felt like I invented p***y. Just a man and his machine.
Oops…was that out loud? This stream is flooded and raging out of control.
I’m sure I like the music from these days so much because it reminds of all the other good things from those days.
**** said that if the tape played through again she was gonna stop. (!)

All of this, “yes.” A man and his machine and his love for a girl.
I had a girl named Mary and a Mustang named Black.
