Jimi C I do buy American. I support our local stores and restaurants but sometimes you just got to buy cat food, cat litter, personal deodorant and little almond joy candy bars. Target based in good old Minnesota. Happy 2019!

Buying American isn’t an easy thing to do. I’d didn’t research but I’d wager that any smart phone built today was built overseas with foreign parts.

Brick and mortar is a cool store but very expensive. Also, what if you need batteries, zip ties, plastic cups, light bulbs, a frozen pizza, kiwis, a lantern, 3 tennis balls, a wedding card and a puzzle of a lake setting?

Very true. I try to make them my first stop - get what I can there. Then head to Meijer or Jewel or Target.

I’m surprised, there is so often someone standing there watching the checkouts and calling cashiers up or taking a register themselves. I wonder if they were understaffed or having a rush and already had everybody up front? I’ve rarely had to wait in a long line at that Target. Sorry you had to!

Until you have worked at Target, you don’t understand that there are employees that are Cashiers only. They are timed on how quickly they check you out. This is often something they have no control over but is their ultimate goal. Everyone who works for Target is trained on the cash registers and stop whatever they are doing unless they were with a guest to head up front. Target wants you to enjoy your shopping experience and does everything they can to make it that way. Hope you can learn a little more patience and empathy. What are you in such a hurry about???

Sheman like you’ve never been impatient & in a hurry ? I have been in Target before where there are 3 lanes out of 30, open. Like really?! Why so many registers if they never get used?

Sheman last I checked, I’m the customer. I don’t care what responsibilities the cashiers or any other employee has. Waiting 17 minutes to check out with one item is total BS. No matter how you look at it, my time is valuable to me and if I continue to have to wait that long to check out, I’ll go to another store. The Wheaton store has you in line and out the door in less than 5 minutes no matter the time or day.

How about just fixing that horrible parking lot?

MBF I’ve only lived here a few years and have often wondered if a seismic event happened in that parking lot. It is The. Worst.

Come to Batavia…besides having lots of registers open they also have self checkout. I think STC only ever has one or two registers open!

Was at IKEA in Bolingbrook 1/2 hour before closing. Only 2!!

Just to stick my two cents in….. I try NOT to use the self check out lines. I feel like if you stand in a longer line they will take the hint, get rid of the self check outs and hire more people?

Saint Charles store isn’t remodeled so there are no self check outs.

At least they’ve backed off the hard push for the Target Red Card…unless they just stopped asking me because I bitched so much 😊

Just to put this out there, my original post had nothing to do with the cashiers themselves, or how hard they work, or how much money they’re paid.

It was slight jab in an obviously joking way directed at the management team for not paying attention to how many people were waiting in line, while I was in fact waiting in line at that particular Target.

If you missed that I was poking fun at Target management in the original post maybe you need to slow down a little when on social media. Not every post is a cause you need to take up arms about. No cashiers needed defending in my post.

Also, my post was not without warrant. I’m in there several times a month and most times they have 2-3 checkout aisles open even though there are 20+ available stalls. Or whatever they call them. And they don’t even have an express lane any more.

Yes, I was short on patience because I was hussling to a NYE party with three last minute items but then had to wait for sheer minutes (minutes I tell ya!) behind Aunt Loretta (and her cart full of her own NYE party favors) before the “who is responding” came over the loud speaker.

The good news is that I’m in a tense bidding war with a man from Argentina for an actual Target walkie-talkie. If you don’t hear back from me it’s because I spent my daughter’s tuition for naught.
