Well, I work 5 floors down from tism, and the new sign on my floor says to open the door to the stairs slowly in case anyone is behind it. I feel like there must have been some kind of incident.
this has/happens where i work. the outside door is a heavy industrial “backdoor” to an office. when we get there we have to unlock it. if someone is coming out when we’re unlocking, it can twist wrists, break keys, etc. some are coming to work when others are leaving. i’ve tried knocking, but strangely enough, people open the friggin’ door to see who’s there, grumbling my ass off. it’s only happened the two examples i gave, but sheesh…
i’ve seen the open the door slowly signs and i’m in favor.
I once worked in a restaurant for a boss who, on Friday when the weekly foodie truck came at 6AM, would check in the order and then help me and the other cook put the third-of-a-semi delivery away.
Said boss moved on to bigger things and second boss moved in
Second boss was never around when 6AM foodie truck came to town. Myself and the other cook pulled muscles doing it on our own.
Second boss would show up around 8:30AM, pounding feverishly on the heavy back door. He never wanted the walk of shame through the front door after the day was well under way.
Nobody would answer his frantic rapping. Servers, dishwashers, and cooks alike would let him continue on with his knock-knocks, “lemme in, lemme in.”
I can still hear him pounding on the back door and it tickles me fancy.
The management company’s been busy around town putting up new signs. All their buildings now say
“Managed by Dream”. Some kinda REM interface no doubt.

I thought the sign was implying that you should dream that somebody is on the other side of the door.
