Ya, I didn’t watch Darko when it first came out either. Maybe 2-3 years later. It was one where too many people I knew hyped it and then I was all smug, like it couldn’t be that good. And then it was that good.
And plus one for surrealism is more everyday life. Me, two.

keamoose- I yep, after your comments on the retention pond I tend to shy away from public water in this fashion. 😊
jimi- you are most welcome!

tism- better safe than sorry, I’ve been there far more than necessary.
jimi- yep, I hold off on commenting sometimes, too, just so I can absorb a smidge.

Donnie Darko didn’t happen for me in real time. i caught up with Donnie LONG after the fact on a DVD with extras that i bought.
a woman i worked with was the age appropriate for Donnie when Donnie happened and she was in love with him from those days.
i watched it, maybe 10 years late, and i fell in love with all of its surrealism.
i wonder why surrealism is called that? not the history of the word. just that more of life fits in the surreal category than not for me (ok, at least half the time) and i’m happy with those numbers. divided by zero and multiplied by green.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. These writings have improved my day (noc) on a day (noc) that needed improvement.

Thank you, Thank You, Thank you. Both of you.
T: sometimes I hold off on reading your stuff not because I’m too busy or not interested. just the opposite. i’m saving it to savor later.
it’s like Ferris said, “sometimes you gotta…”

There’s so much truth in your words.
I grew up better safe than sorry. Stayed that way most of my life.
It wasn’t until I did a whole series of “bad, selfish things” that came up aces for me.
That’s when I started having those “If I’d only….” regrets.
Now I do stop in the middle of a moment to take that mental snapshot.

Although, I wouldn’t really want to splash in that water. There’s a reason they flush it out. Stagnant water in the lines is a breeding ground for all kinds for gross stuff. (This is the downside to being a water treatment engineer.)

If that story doesn’t make people’s days better, I don’t know what would.

Because of the way my mom taught me the multiplication tables, I have this lingering feeling that 7x7=49 is Irish and I can’t remember why.

Interesting. I’ve never heard/read about synesthesia. Way cool though, I feel like I’ve been living under a rock and missed out on the perceptual color palettes.

When I’m drifting to sleep after drinking more than my fair share of coffee, words will surf in and out like the above. I sometimes think of writing more down but whenever I do I feel like I’m being pompously grand or overly wordy. Poetry is kinda artsy and not much like how I’ve been writing in the here and now.
But thanks for your kudos! Maybe I’ll at least write the down wordiness now and then. 😊

Tuesday is green. Lots of numbers, days of the week and months are a specific color to me. I like to read about this.

Yep, there was a time when I used to lift her up onto the garage. Last night I looked out the window and there she was all on her own, enjoying the view.

And what is this “Good evening” shit? It was 10:42pm. If I was writing those things I’d be like “Get your ass of Facebook and go to bed. You got work tomorrow.”
