Peeps, it’s not what you think…
With that said, has anybody seen Inherent Vice?
Rotten Tomatoes gives it 72% and it’s staring my hero Joaquin Phoenix.

I saw “Inherent VIce” and I give a B+. Most people wouldn’t. I’m not most people. I’m a fan of Thomas Pynchon and sooo fucking coincidentally I am reading “Inherent Vice” at the moment.
A lot of people would say it’s a jumbled mess. It kinda is, but that’s an accurate representation of the book. And just because it’s jumbled and messy doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s another masterpiece from TP.
Like life imumgo (in my utmost grandiose opinion) it has multiple layers and plot lines. Several things going on at once and connected only in the 6 degrees of separation. Joaquin Phoenix captures the character of Doc and the syt’s hired to play the sweet young things do an admirable job of handling (jobhandling) their characters.
I’m biased. I loved it. Doc is first and foremost a stoner and he’s the main character, but it isn’t Cheech and Chong. Brolin plays an idiot cop and he also captures the character. There are just too many parts to heap accolades on so I won’t bother. Everybody who worked on this did a great job, including first and foremost the director and script. Again, that’s the way the book is written. On purpose. The book is better but you’ll find yourself turning back a few pages more than once trying to remember who this person is and how they relate to the story.
So much California. I’ve only crossed the border near Lake Havasu City, AZ, but I feel like I know it a little bit because of writers like TP. Music like fill-in-the-blank: Eagles, Jackson Browne, etc.
The movie is wonderful eye-candy. I want to change my grade to a solid A and I want to be the first to say go fuck yourself to anyone that hasn’t read the book or Vineland or something else TP wrote. It’s not Cliff Notes. Rich. Lush. Sumptious. The grooves are lined with spider fur. In a good way.
