grahm sexton - contaminated pieces of meat - 04 - generate / life again - MP3

I’m not a pianist. Or a violinist. But in 1995 under the alias grahm sexton I pretended to be.

I wrote and recorded this musical piece on a 4-track tape recorder in Des Moines, Iowa in a walk-in closet.

The vocals are mixed way down because I’ve always hated the sound of my voice.

Are there any parts of me
that you would care to see?
Unravel blueprints for my surgery,
reconstruct my fucking personality.

Shove aside my point of view,
disregard who I have to be.
Sorry I cannot live to
your expectations of me.

There is no chances in our hell
that you will control my body.
I can’t stand my hesitant apologies.
I never ever hear that you’re sorry.

My mind is not up for
a battle of custody.
Your ideals are my calamity.
I cannot pull apart the insanity.

My body is not up for
a round of your shooting gallery.

The clock hanging on my wall
is ticking away my life again.

Got half a pack of cigarettes
to last the rest of my life again.

Another dysfunctional relationship
to take away my life again.

There’s a gaping hole in daddy’s arm
to swallow up my life again.

The next flight leaving out of town
will hide the rest of my life again.

Memories of a careless past
will haunt the rest of my life again.

Again. Again.

That clock again.
That goddamn clock again.

That clock again.
That goddamn ticking again.

t:
a lesson in growing old. i won’t say gracefully ‘cuz i’m not doing that. i have that album around here somewhere (on CD) and i would have swore it was “Synchronated”. was it momentarily or just a few rare copies or i’m completely outta my tree? i already know the answer. i remember “getting it”; knowing without really knowing what synchronated pieces meant for cyring out loud. i can’t imagine how many times i’ve thought about it, and always knew those pieces of meat were synchronated. i did not expect this answer. i’m going to be in seclusion until 9:30.

ok, im out early.

There’s a very, very good chance that the original, original version was titled Synchronated.

It’s ringing a bell but I can’t recall exactly. Growing old and all. šŸ¤•šŸ˜‰
