I’m disappointed that I got rid of my little album collection when cassettes came out. I’m disappointed that I threw out my cassettes when CDs came out. I’m disappointed that I sold my CDs when MP3s came out.
Yeah, I can pull out my phone and listen to anything I want, whenever I want. But I miss the tangibles. It was a physical connection to my heroes and saviors. Like turning on the bat-signal. I could open that plastic tin and the sounds that came out would make my soul sing. That’s corny but whatever.
The good/bad news is that somehow I did manage to hang on to my -least- favorite Prince cassette. Go figure.
But I do still got this sweet Purple Rain button.
