I have to recommend a show on NPR called “WireTap.” If you’re not already a fan, here’s a short description, some of which I borrowed from a different reviewer:
It defies categorization, but it’s most comfortable fit is probably comedy. The reason I think you’d like it is that it reminds me of conversations I’ve had with Luther. As you know, conversations with Luther sometimes consist of a great deal of listening.
The main character on the show is Jonathan Goldstein. There is another character, Gregory, who nags/rags on him or maybe it’s just that Gregory is never going to be happy until your opinion about everything is identical with his own. That’s the part that reminds me of Luther. A not always fun situation when I was on the listening end of Luther “persuasive” monologues, but easier to take when it’s being satirized by strangers.
