Angels simply, coldly stopped believing in Josh Hamilton

Angels simply, coldly stopped believing in Josh Hamilton

Owner Arte Moreno – paying all but a few of the $83 million owed Hamilton and getting nothing in return – couldn’t wait to get rid of the struggling former MVP.

I like baseball more as I grow older.  It’s a damn shame about Josh Hamilton. No sarcasm here.  I don’t know what all I want to think about this.  It’s like Lindsay Lohan.  People make jokes about her all the time but she’s going to die from all that fun.  Josh Hamilton will get paid MILLIONS of dollars by the Angels to play against the Angels.  But damn, with all that money he could end up dead.  I know I’d have been dead a zillion times over if I could afford it.

I don’t know.  And I guess that I just don’t know.

Also, I guess, I think he’s under a micro-scope and that’s not fair. Not many of us could hold up to that kind of scrutiny. But the people who are scrutinizing his life paid for the right to do so, I guess. But I don’t think the press and the public have any right to keep him under such close scrutiny. Maybe if he knew what it was like to make a few million dollars less per week he wouldn’t feel like he’s immune to cocaine/alcohol. His goddam body will give up in a few more weeks/months/year or so. If he continues to spend it like he’s making that much, his wife will leave with his kids and then he’ll be free to play base ball with the guys on the block. It’s a damn shame.

The Angels and MLB were testing him 3 times per week when all this was supposedly happening. He had a slip at least every 3 years since ‘05.

I’m sorry, I don’t believe he was sober every night and day except the times he got caught. So how was he passing the tests? I think he’s got a seriously high paid enabler. That’s my theory. Think about it: He can afford to pay/bribe his way past the tests. And that’s too goddam much money. The most cold-hearted thing about it all is the statistics. Baseball is about arithmetic. He is not worth it. He don’t add up at all. It’s not going to end well. Shoulders do not get better. Period. Ask SGC. Ask anybody. The human body is best equipped except in rare cases right out of the factory. The knee/shoulder/wrist replacements do not work as well as the original.
