it was you, tcr!, who alerted me fairly late in life what a great band one of my favorite bands were.
the band?
RUSH!
i listened to them and saw their concert during 2112 show and it was off the scale. compete bombastacity. people were sawing their ears off like van goh just to leave ‘em on the altar of RUSH.
and you came along, several years later, after i’d put those toys away and reminded me who good they were.
with arithmetic.
they have at least a dozen gold albums and i think 3 platinums. the lyrics are the stuff that my kindred listen to and say some kind beavis and butthead remarks and that are oddly welcome. it took tcr! to open my eyes to the tunesmithage he had leaking’ ourgz

my last couple sentences seem like my medication had taken effect.
anyway, i still lived in iowa, i think, and you just mentioned one day that you'd been surfing and saw where they were still selling albums and going on tours. they'd had at least a gold record most time's they came out with one, and that was probably 10 or 15 years ago when you told me this.
just recently they bit my ear again and they do have an impressive record of longevity, etc.
i love their lyrics and of course the music. they rock.
