My wife emailed me at work a couple nights ago. She said to call her please. I read 2 more sentences before I called her.

My sister-in-law’s sister had been murdered. Kim and Missy shared only one parent and weren’t always close. But they had become close again. (Kim is my brother’s wife. Missy is her sister.)

Missy’s first husband committed suicide 2 years ago. She was back on her feet and dating this guy. My brother Don never liked him. He couldn’t put his finger on it but he was no damn good. The new boyfriend shot Missy and then himself. My brothers and I all have good radar for when someone is a threat. But Don”s is way down the line from mine. I’m trying to be all fancy and what I want to say is that if Don didn’t like him, the mofo was fucking satan. Don could like anybody and bring out the best in anybody. If Don is at his favorite bar and someone starts acting up, the owner has Don go over and talk to him. Don is kinda big but he’s a gentle bear. He makes everyone laugh. And he’ll listen in high gear. If Don didn’t like this mofo, he needs to be watched closely.

The Des Moines register article had nice things to say about Missy. I don’t know her last name. The whole thing threw everybody for a loop. Too goddam many pistols and too easy to get ‘em. Not enough background checks. My family has had rifles and shotguns since I was born. If you really feel threatened in your own home, you need to make other changes before you resort to firearms, but a shotgun will do it. Then you can hunt deer or pheasant or turkey or whatever the fuck you want. I don’t believe people need a pistol unless they’ve proved it’s necessary and have been thoroughly checked out.

I’ll find the article from the DSM paper and put it on here. This was a very random article for me to put on here. I don’t usually bray in this direction but sometimes things get me weird in several different directions all at once.

Wow..

I’ve had similar experiences with death, ones the rattle me in weird ways. None that are remotely close to this but I know what you mean.
