i wish i could find something good to say about it.
i guess that it ended would be it.
it wasn’t even a hot mess. it was a lukewarm p.o.s.
james brown had a different sound. interesting enough at first, because it was different. the drums and horns played in different time signatures. accents on the first beat.
funk. defined.
not for most white people. i could stand it for a little while. but then it got on my nerve. and i mean it jangled.
it was like a bad acid trip. it was like the editors were students. from a different planet.
it wasn’t any goddam good. they broke the wall, i forget which one, where he addresses the camera. but it wasn’t consistent. it didn’t make sense.
here’s what i was looking for:
james was the product of horrific abuse and was seriously mentally ill. his behavior was erratic. the movie mirrored these issues.

Damn, I was hoping that Brown movie would be on par with the Ray Charles one with Jamie Foxx. :-(
