Doesn’t she have a software app that imports her Word docs and then spits out ePubs and their brethrens?
I’m talking out my ass, I don’t know if such exists but I would think it would with the popularity of eBooks and all.
what she knows about this stuff, she taught herself. if there’s something as simple as you’re describing, she/we would love to know more. we’d be in your eternal debt, (i am anyway) if you could even point us in the write direction.
it happens like this: she writes it. then to publish it she has to go a site that does such. the place that sells it (i’m talking out my ass now, but i’m pretty sure about this) such as amazon, doesn’t have that app.
in the beginning, she was so happy she got finally got it up and available on the bigassweb. but then she saw some of what was supposedly the finished product and it was formatted completely wrong. LOTS of big errors. not how she thought it was gonna look. she’s about 99% a woman show (she has friends and such read it for the big edits) and what she knows about e-publishing she has found out and taught herself. the thing i hear her scream about is the formatting. time suck hell and tedious, and then when she thought she was done and ready, something would look real different, as in bad, many pages or paragraphs down the scroll.
I can only imagine the horrors associated with all of that. We struggle constantly with web development, getting copy from MS Word and turning into something that looks half way decent on the web. :-(
