Commenting on Seinfeld Wars

It seems to me that Jerry’s got this little pelvic thrust going on. And in my mind Jerry should never a pelvic anything. And then Kramer has this little neck crook. And every time I look at it, he twitches like an insect that’s about ready to eat my eye lashes.

I have little interest in hunting, meat, and/or whiskey but I do enjoy his simplistic and straight forward demeanor. I think to truly grasp his greatness, one needs to follow his character throughout the whole series.

i won’t go all the way to uncomfortable but it’s missing something or more likely has too much of a feel in the wrong direction

Yep, I’m not able to run this mentality at 100% but overall I do pretty well. Much of it spurred by just not caring. It’s winter outside and I bundle up. Sometimes it’s winter inside and I bundle up there as well.

I stumbled upon this last night this Swanson quote last night. :-)

no emotional sweating

i can relate to many parts, especially the frustration.
Either “own” your projects or don’t. Fuck this shit about owning them for awhile and then passing them off without a word to whoever happens to be standing the closest.
usually after it’s fubar.

i know what you mean but only by glimpses. i can talk and/or fake a good game but the truth is that i get my feelings hurt plenty by people that i expect “more” from. more than they’re capable of sometimes, but also more than they’re willing to give. be it a call or a look or like.

I could tell you story after story of my boss wearing the “tech wizard” hat, doing shit only half way, and then expecting us to go in and finish whatever’s left.

Example from last week. As a note, I’ve left huge parts of frustration and bullshit out, mainly because I’ll get all worked up and don’t want to revisit the drama again.

Anyways.. My boss was working with our freelance copywriter on an email campaign. They had numerous calls, emails, mule correspondence, etc. I have no idea what all was said because said boss is moving toward the “need to know” communication model.

Good for them.

The copywriter emails while said boss is at another client meeting — he’s having difficulty sending his campaign because his lists are too large. I reply that he should split his lists into several smaller lists. Case closed as far as I’m concerned. Not my project but I stepped in a helped where I could. In and out and nobody got hurt.

The copywriter emails the next while my boss is in the office — the emails aren’t sending at all. I peek at the server and see that said boss had been tinkering with various settings recently.

“Not my monkeys” as they say. Mr. Wizard can clean up his own shit.

About an hour passes and said boss sends me an instant message, he’s “fixed” the problem that kept the emails from sending. I tell him “okay” and then watch my Inbox to see if he replies to the latest email from the copywriter.

“~crickets~” as they say.

I would bet my toes that said boss never replied to him and fully expected me to. I was the last one, after all, to email with the copyrighter.

Fuck that.

He’s going to “manage” projects all on his own, keep everyone totally in the dark, fuck server settings up, fix shit that he didn’t do right in the first place, send me private messages when he should be sending them to the copyrighter… Argh.

Either “own” your projects or don’t. Fuck this shit about owning them for awhile and then passing them off without a word to whoever happens to be standing the closest.

This happens all the fucking time at work.. I used to have a good deal of respect for said boss. None at the moment.

not my circus

I’ll prob never go near the fourth part.

This reminds me all too much of Lucas going in and fiddling with Star Wars decades later.

Since posting this I’ve been thinking about Doc Brown and how he didn’t need roads where they were going.
