Criticisms

tcr! paints a chaotic portrait of a volatile romance, on their relIndie rockers tcr! serve up aggressive, sludge-heavy punk rock with a message, on their release of Maybe, maybe three. The first track on their 2026 full-length release titled Mouse House Hotel, this tune hits hard right out of the gate with in-your-face drums, fuzzed-out bass riffs and swirling psychedelic guitars.

Empowering lyrics attempt to reclaim personal space and autonomy with a revenge-driven narrative, layered with evocative metaphors that help to illustrate a relationship at its breaking point.

Excellent production, great sounding mix. Aggressive, drum-forward production style, terrific “wall of sound” guitars. Great Sabbath-coded guitar riff. Love the little bass lick and pause at around 1:10 and then again at 2:00, really helps to break up the arrangement and allow the listener to “reset” somewhat.

Vocals sit well in the mix, good use of filtering and layering without overdoing it. Lyrics are intense and confrontational, taking back control of a toxic relationship. Some great metaphors, “wet confetti” stands out in my mind.

Overall, this is a fantastic post-punk track with an interesting and compelling arrangement, as well as a defiant message of liberation and emancipation that should immediately resonate with audiences. Stellar work on this one!
